I bought a "suitcase that children can ride

[Also included in Amazon Prime Thanksgiving Sale] I bought a "suitcase that children can ride in" for 10,000 yen during Prime Day, and it solved my stroller problem when traveling with children.

When traveling with small children, the question that always arises is, "Should we bring a stroller?" It's helpful to have one to put the child in. But if both adults are carrying suitcases, there isn't enough hands to push the stroller.

Furthermore, in travel destinations with many hills and bumpy roads, a stroller can actually become a hindrance.

The "child-friendly suitcase" I 'm introducing today solved that problem for me. I bought it during Amazon Prime Day in July and took it on a 4-night, 5-day trip to South Korea with my 1.5-year-old child. It made traveling comfortable even without a stroller, and I can't imagine being without this suitcase while my child is still young.

Incidentally, these items are also included in the ongoing Prime Thanksgiving sale . Families with children up to elementary school age should definitely check out this article.

What kind of suitcase can a child ride on? Why did you buy it?

Let's go back in time to July. I originally had plans to go to South Korea for 4 nights and 5 days in September, and since I didn't want to bring a stroller, I was looking for a suitcase that my child could ride in.

We use a Cybex Melio Carbon stroller, which is an AB type, but because it's an AB type, it's heavy and bulky. Therefore, it 's really difficult to take it on a trip . Furthermore, South Korea has many hills, and the number of subway entrances with elevators is quite limited, so considering convenience, taking a stroller is not an option.

However, it's incredibly difficult for an adult to carry an 11.5kg son while also pulling a suitcase. On top of that, my 18-month-old son is very curious and suddenly wants to walk when I'm carrying him .

I was convinced that I had no choice but to buy a suitcase that my child could ride in! So, I was searching for a child-carrying suitcase during Prime Day.

To get straight to the point! If you're traveling with a child without a stroller, this will make things considerably easier.

In conclusion, if you're traveling with children and not bringing a stroller, a suitcase that your child can ride in is definitely a viable option.

< What I liked >

  1. Whether at the airport, on the subway, or on the bumpy roads of the city, she was always so well-behaved.
  2. It doesn't take up much space even on the subway, and fits perfectly between Dad's knees.
  3. Even with luggage inside, it moves smoothly with just a light pull.

< Things that caught my attention >

  1. If you're planning a trip where you'll be buying lots of souvenirs, this one suitcase won't be enough. Having another suitcase would be reassuring.

Did it exceed expectations? My trip to South Korea went very smoothly.

Actually, as soon as we arrived, my son was so excited. My husband took the newly delivered suitcase out of the room and put our son in it, and he got so excited that he didn't want to get off.

He was absolutely thrilled, and even before we left for the trip, he kept asking to ride on the suitcase.

She was very well-behaved and sat quietly the whole time at the airport.

She was very well-behaved and sat quietly the whole time at the airport.

And then, finally, the day of my trip to Korea arrived. From the airport parking lot to checking in inside the airport, I was on my suitcase the whole time .

Airports are quite hectic; you have to take out your passport, check your electronic reservation on your phone, and so on, but this suitcase behaves so well.

I think this is really important when you're traveling with children .

My child seemed to enjoy riding in the suitcase, treating it like a mode of transportation, and thankfully, they didn't get off and wander off somewhere on their own.

It doesn't take up much space even on the subway, fitting perfectly between Dad's knees.

After arriving in Korea and picking up our luggage, we even rode the subway with our suitcases on us. On the subway, our baby fit snugly between Dad's knees, with the suitcase resting right there .

The subway ride from Incheon Airport to downtown Seoul takes about an hour, so we wanted to sit down as much as possible. Strollers take up a lot of space and it's usually difficult to find a seat on the train, but suitcases don't take up much space, and our child was able to ride comfortably with them.

Incidentally, the suitcase moves easily with just a light pull , so when my son fell asleep on the train, my husband was holding him while he pulled the suitcase to transfer to the subway, and it moved effortlessly.

There's no feeling of it getting stuck, and it pulls smoothly even with a fair amount of luggage inside, so that's a plus.

What I personally liked best was that it handled bumpy city streets very well .

The roads in Korea are quite bumpy, but my child held on tight and stayed in the stroller. Even at 18 months old, he held on securely, and the L-shaped seat fits him quite well , so it doesn't seem like he'll slip off.

The reviews said that a 5-night stay in Hawaii was manageable, but what was the reality...?

The reviews said it was spacious enough for a 5-night trip to Hawaii . But this was my first time buying an L-shaped suitcase, so I had absolutely no idea how much it could hold... I was extremely skeptical.

On the way there, the total weight including my suitcase was about 10kg. On the way back, it was nearly 20kg . The photo is of the suitcase I packed for the outbound trip, and honestly, just one of them is enough capacity for clothes.

Incidentally, the things I packed on the way back were 3kg of kimchi, three boxes of Korean instant coffee as souvenirs, and clothes I bought in Korea. Also, a fried egg cushion from Nitori that my son absolutely needs when he sleeps, along with his picture books and toys. The fried egg cushion was compressed, of course, but it still took up quite a bit of space.

My son loves a Korean bus cartoon, so I bought him a toy based on it, but it's really bulky...

To be honest, if you're planning a trip where you'll be buying a ton of souvenirs, one suitcase that a child can ride in won't be enough .

This time, we brought an extra carry-on suitcase and an additional bag to attach to the top of the suitcase, and we were finally able to fit everything in.

For a 4-5 night trip, it's a good idea for one person to bring a small suitcase . Luckily, it was summer and our clothes weren't too bulky, but be a little more careful if you're traveling in winter.

By the way, it will also be included in the sale during Prime Thanksgiving!

The regular price is 148,000 yen, but it's discounted to 12,800 yen during the Prime Thanksgiving sale!

While it's a little more expensive than Prime Day, many other child-friendly suitcases are also on sale for around 15,000 yen, so it's still a good deal.

By the way, here are the details of the Prime Thanksgiving event.

  1. Pre-sale: October 13th (Tue) 0:00 - October 15th (Thu) 23:59
  2. This sale: October 16th (Fri) 0:00 - October 19th (Mon) 23:59

It's perfect for the three-day weekend at the end of November or for visiting family during the New Year holidays. If you're planning a trip with your children using the Shinkansen or airplane, be sure to buy it now!

Summary: A must-buy if you're traveling with kids! It's durable and offers great long-term cost performance.

Even now that we're back from our trip, my son keeps wanting to get his suitcase out of the house and ride in it. It's supposed to be usable until he's about 12 years old, so considering how long it will last, I think getting it for just over 10,000 yen during Prime Day was really good value for money.

< Perfect match >

  1. People who are planning to travel with their children using bullet trains or airplanes.
  2. People who don't want to take heavy and bulky strollers, such as A/B type strollers, on their trips.
  3. People traveling to destinations with many hills, few elevators, etc., where it's difficult to get around with a stroller.
  4. People who have a curious child who suddenly wants to walk when being held.

< People who should consider this a little more >

  1. People who plan to buy lots of souvenirs and want to pack everything in one suitcase.
  2. People who want to take a 4-5 night trip with just one suitcase, especially during the winter months when clothes tend to be bulky.
  3. People who mainly take short trips by car

If you're planning a trip with your children, be sure to check it out during the Prime Thanksgiving sale!

By the way, I also brought the table chair that I used so much on my trip to Korea last December! I've reviewed it in detail in the article below, so please check it out.
